GC Columns

FactorFour VF-624ms and VF-1301ms

World's first ultra-low bleed equivalent of a 6% cyanopropyl/phenyl, 94% PDMS GC columns for volatile organic compounds and solvents

Eliminate loss of late eluters such as naphthalene
Eliminate co-eluters such as benzene and 1,2-dichloroethane
Eliminate ghost peaks and unstable baselines

The new ultra-low bleed FactorFour VF-624ms columns offer a new standard in increased signal-to-noise ratio for volatile organic compounds, including those found in drinking water as well as other sources - covered by EPA 500, 600 and 8000 test methods, especially EPA: 524, 624 and 8260. Solvents, including those commonly found in pharmaceutical preparations, can also be improved according to USP test method 467. The ultra-low bleed thin-filmed VF-1301ms has a similar selectivity and is suitable for an improved response of semi-volatile organic solvents, as well as PCB’s and pesticides.

  VF-624ms: bleed specification of 6pA @ 280 °C for a 60 m, 1.8μm, 0.32 mm ID column
  VF-1301ms: bleed specification of 0.5pA @ 280 °C for a 30 m, 0.25μm, 0.25 mm ID column

Improved signal-to-noise ratio
The ultra-low bleed FactorFour VF-624ms columns means you can achieve improved signal-to-noise ratio of late-eluting, semi-volatile compounds, such as naphthalene which are normally hidden amongst high concentrations of bleed ions at the end of the temperature program. See figure 1.

Elimination of co-eluters
The superior selectivity of the FactorFour technology also gives a significant improvement in the separation of typical co-eluters, such as aromatics and hydrocarbons like benzene and 1, 2-dichloroethane as well as solvents, such as acetaldehyde and methanol for the VF-624ms and VF-1301ms (see figure 2) - meaning improved reporting of analytes for your customers.

Elimination of ghost peaks
Ghost peaks and unstable baselines normally formed as a result of the high concentration of re-eluted bleed products are now history (see figure 3) – permitting difficult trace analytes to now be quantified and resulting in an impressive, clean chromatogram.

The VF-624ms and VF-1301ms columns come with EZ-GRIP™ simplifying installation, coupling and operation of capillary columns. For guaranteed performance the retention index, efficiency, selectivity and bleed is measured and specified on the test report supplied with each column.

Typical components analyzed with the VF-624ms include:
Purgeable organic volatiles & semi-volatiles, aromatics, halocarbons, solvents

Typical components analyzed with the VF-1301ms include:
Thin-film version of the VF-624ms suitable for volatile solvents, pesticides, PCB’s and other organic compounds requiring thin films.
