HPLC Columns
Microsorb Amino
Microsorb Amino is an aminopropylsilane covered silica that is typically used in the separation of polysaccharides with molecular weights below 2000. The typical mobile phase in this application is acetonitrile and water and separation is based on a complex mixture of interactions. Amino columns generally exhibit higher efficiencies than ionic gel-based columns used for carbohydrate analysis.
Amino columns can also be used in the normal phase mode with typical normal phase columns. When operating in this mode, separations are similar to those of unbonded silica but with much shorter gradient re-equilibration times.
