The BIO-DIS III is designed to meet or exceed current USP specifications. It is ideal for dissolution profiling of extended release dosage forms.
The BIO-DIS uses a reciprocating motion to “dip” the inner tube into media. At the designated time, the entire row of inner tubes raises and moves to the next row of media.
The BIO-DIS III is fully programmable in each row for functions such as dip speed, time, hold time and drain time. It is capable of running unattended for periods of up to 6 days and can store up to 25 programs. There are 7 sample tubes which automatically traverse up to 6 rows of corresponding outer tubes filled with different media. Custom units with more rows are available. Virtually any solid dosage form can be accommodated including pellets, tablets and transdermal patches. Mesh disks retain the samples in the tubes as they move through the medium. With accessories, the appropriate media volume can vary from 100 mL, 300 mL (USP) or 1000 mL.
The BIO-DIS is shipped complete with all the necessary accessories. Temperature is controlled using the VK 750D Heater / Circulator. A built-in Report Center II dot matrix printer records the operating parameters during the test method.
